【摘要】:Enclosurescompriseabroadcomponentfamilythatfunctionstoprotect,secureandstorepassivefibreopticcomponents(suchassplicesorconnectors)orothernon-interconnectingdevices(suchasopticalbranchingdevices).Theyareinstalledateitherindoororoutdoorlocations,andprovideaccesstotheopticalpathofoneormorecabledopticalfibres.Theyalsogenerallyprovidefortheorderlymanagement,routing,andstorageofopticalfibres(suchasspliceorganizersorconnectormountingplates).Configurationdefinitionsmayspecifyintegratedfunctions,orpermitgroupedcombinationsofcompatibleindependentsub-units.Specificclassificationrequirementsvary,andmayormaynotincludeisolationfromenvironmentalhazards(suchaswateringress),structurecodes(suchasfiresafety),orotherappropriateconsiderations.Enclosuresarenotintendedtoprovidetheprimarypackagingorstructureforuncabledopticalfibresplices(suchasarigidmechanicalspliceshell,orafusionspliceprotectionsleeve).SpecificationforthosedevicesisdefinedinIEC61073-1.Itisalsointendedthatenclosuresspecifiedunderthisstandardarenotsufficientlycharacterizedforcontinuousbrineordeep-watersubmersion.Examplesofthisareoceanicorlake-crossingapplications.Cables,closuresandinstallationmethodssuitedtothisusearehighlyspecializedandarenotwithinthescopeofthisstandardorsupportingtestprocedures.Duetothediversevarietyofsubordinatespecificationspossibleunderthisgenericspecification,thesectionalspecificationlevelhasbeenretained(see2.2.1).Thisformatwillaiddefinitionclarityforindividualcomponentsub-familiesandrequirements,andproviderelevantassociatedblankdetailspecifications.Thisstandardestablishesuniformrequirementsforthefollowing:-fibreopticenclosuregenericrequirements;-qualificationapprovalandqualityassessmentprocedures.
